Happy Halloween

Mary-Frances and I had another successful Halloween Party last night. We had a mixture of friends from Canyonview (Mary’s work), and our Young Marrieds group from Northwest Hills. Our guests included a Doctor, Snow White, a Knight of Camelot, Peacock, Fairy/Butterfly, Old Man, Rapper, Beekeeper, Baby bee and flower, Blind guy, and an 80’s Chic. Snow White (Julie J). made a pumpkin “pie” that was delicious. It was all the pumpkin pie goodness, but without the crust.

This year we were able to get people to head down to the spooky basement where they enjoyed the fine arts that is foosball. Miss Peacock (Patty) made several peacock honks and calls throughout the night to be more authentic. Blind man (Grant) also played in character.

Around 7:30 the scavenger hunt began!
There were three teams of three that were given a single clue to locate a bag of clothes. They where to choose an article of clothing from the bag, then trade their clue with another team that would send them to the location of yet another bag of clothes. There were five clues in total and once they had found all five, they would report back to living room where they would receive information of what to do with their findings…

Each team was to now build a scarecrow! They had to assemble the items they had found in the scavenger hunt using masking tape and stuffing to create their scarecrow. They were given markers to draw a face to help sell its personality. After ten minutes were up they put down their markers and stuffing and all gathered in the living room for judging. Our neighbor, Amy, came over to be our judge. Each team was given the opportunity to appeal to Amy as to why their scarecrow should win by providing a name, and brief bio. The winning team each received a $5 gift card to Starbucks or Dutch Bros (their choice).

After the game we proceeded to vote for best costume. The best costume for the night was Miss. Peacock. Second place was Snow White, and third place was the Rapper. We had a lot of fun, and hope our guests did too. Thanks guys for another awesome Halloween Party!

For tonight, Hallween night, Mary-Frances and I plan to drive over to Mary's parents house and hang out with them and help pass out candy to all the little kids in awesome costumes. Kids in crappy or no costumes get nothing. Ahh, I love Halloween. Pics coming soon.

PS) Charlie is doing much better now. :)
